Having your Engagement Session at Your Wedding Venue
The Oak Room at Calamigos Ranch is beautiful and makes for perfect Engagement Photos. With a gorgeous Waterfall as your backdrop during the Ceremony, stunning floor to ceiling windows in the Reception area. The bridal and groom suites are incredibly spacious with great natural lighting. And my absolute favorite part were the chandeliers and lights hanging from the trees.
The choice of the Location was obviously super beneficial for me as your Wedding Photographer but more importantly it really helped my Clients envision what the day will be like. And that really brought the magic to the Session. Saying things like "the next time you're standing in this spot she's going to be your wife!" or "this is where you'll be having your first dance!" Another fun idea was making a pose in a certain spot with the plan to recreate the exact moment on the wedding day!
A lot of couples usually have their Sessions elsewhere but honestly the change up was refreshing and from a Photographers perspective it was also very helpful for me to envision their wedding day, talk about where the ceremony would be, places we could take Bridal portraits. I got to see the areas they would be getting ready in and also get a good idea of the lightning situation. I can easily say this is the most prepared I have felt shooting at a new Wedding venue.
Such a cool idea and I highly recommend! Just make sure you plan ahead with the Venue Coordinator. So the Session doesn't interfere with any scheduled Events, you don't breach Contract, and they have someone available to offer assistance if any is needed. The Coordinators at this Location were phenomenal, and very accommodating. They gave us free rein of the venue, made sure all the lights were on and the Waterfall was going. They even had the Carousel in the venue next door running. It helped make us feel so welcome and really solidified for the Couple that they made that right choice for their Wedding Venue.
